We KNOW that worrying solves nothing, but we still do it. WHY?
Well, first of all, the act of worrying is a destructive illusion that “tricks” our mind into making us feel like we are engaging with the problem in a productive way when in reality we are not.
Even though you rationally know worrying about something will not fix it or prevent it, your mind still works tirelessly to formulate an answer, solution, or reason for it.
And number two, not worrying requires conscious awareness and the ability to control thoughts and emotions.
This often requires practice and isn’t something that we’re taught.
Figuring it out is always a big lightbulb moment for the attendees in our workshops. Such a small thing with a big impact.
